Buckingham Palace has announced the death of Her Majesty The Queen, 21 April 1926 – 8th September 2022 Poynton with Worth Town Council was deeply saddened to learn about the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth on 8th September 2022. Since 6th February 1952 when she became Queen, Her Majesty’s life has been dedicated to serving this nation and the people within it. As the longest reigning monarch, her presence has been a comfort and source of strength in a rapidly changing world. Her Majesty’s dedication to the hundreds of charities of which she is patron and her hardworking dedication has been a source of inspiration to so many. She will be greatly missed and the impact her reign has had will not be forgotten. May she rest in peace. Read More...

Poynton Baptist church, Building Community Group led by Dave Dyball, Robin Air, Ian Cooper, Chris Russell, Martin Tope and Angus Buchanan have worked hard to give life back to our shared space seating. Funded by Poynton Town Council, the work was carried out as part of the ‘Love Poynton’ week. The Town Council is delighted to announce it has recently awarded a Community Grant of £1,000 to ‘The Food Community’ at Poynton Baptist Church. The scheme aims to reduce poverty in Poynton by supporting individuals across the community who are living on a budget, by providing access to nutritious food, in a dignified way. Additionally, the food community have been awarded a further £1,500 from a Cheshire East Volunteer Fund, which is held by the Town Council. Read More...

Over 5,500 residents in our area have made contact with their GP about their poor mental health. At a recent meeting of Poynton community groups and services called ‘Poynton Together’, poor mental health was also raised as a concern. Volunteers from Poynton Area Community Partnership (PACP) have produced a contact sheet with details of local support services and organisations around mental health and other issues which affect mental health, such as social isolation, debt and money problems and domestic abuse.
