Who are your community champions?

A message from the Mayor, Cllr Lee Podmore 

After a year when so many residents and community groups helped each other through the pandemic, it gives me great pleasure in being able to hold the twelfth Town Council Civic Awards to members of our community. 

 Nominations are invited for this year’s Civic Service Awards. Just a handful of these are given each year to individuals or groups who have made a “sustained and significant contribution” to our community. There are also separate awards for Youth Civic Service in recognition of having shown “leadership, initiative, enthusiasm and commitment to a worthwhile cause, of benefit to their peer group and/or the wider community”.

The awards are given by the Mayor at his Civic Sunday reception on 22nd August. If you know of any deserving candidates for these awards please collect a nomination form from the Civic Hall or print a copy from here. Alternatively you can send a brief citation including the nominated person(s)/group contact details, in confidence to the Town Clerk, either by e-mail to: haf.barlow@poyntontowncouncil.gov.uk or by post to the Town Clerk, Poynton Town Council, Civic Hall, off Park Lane, Poynton SK12 1RB.
The deadline for nominations is 4pm on Friday 23rd July 2021
