The Facilities, Infrastructure and Economic
Development Committee meet four to five times. The Committee ensure that
Poynton’s infrastructure and services are safe, fit for purpose and maintained
to a high standard. In addition, it is the parent committee to a number of
Working Groups including the Town Improvement Working Group which looks at
projects including accessibility and pollinator projects.
The Committee works with the Operations Manager and his team on general maintenance around the Town ensuring that issues which are the responsibility of Cheshire East or other agencies are properly reported and monitored for action.
The Committee also oversees the work of the Operations Team managing the Town Council’s own assets including the Civic Hall, Brecon and Hockley play areas, the Inclines, Coppice Road Allotments. At Christmas we are responsible for the Tree and Christmas lights in the Town.
Over recent years FIED have taken on the responsibility for the network of 24 hour AED (defibrillators) repurposing the phone boxes and ensuring they are checked and maintained on a regular basis via the CCSO team.
