Hate Crime Third Party Reporting Centre
The CCS Team are now trained to take initial reports from residents wishing to report incidents of ‘Hate Crime’ on behalf of Cheshire Police.
What is hate crime?
Hate incidents and hate crime happen because of prejudice or hostility based on a person's disability, race, religion, sexual orientation or transgender identity.
Not all hate incidents will amount to criminal offences, but it is equally important that these are reported and recorded by the police.
Hate crime can fall into one of three main types: physical assault, verbal abuse and incitement to hatred.
Residents can attend the Civic Hall and report an incident to the Council Community Support Team in person or contact them on 01625 872238 to arrange a meeting.
Connected Communities Centre
In February 2018, Poynton Civic Hall was launched as one of Cheshire East Council’s Connected Communities Centres. Connected Communities Centres host a range of activities and support services available on your doorstep.
As a Connected Community Centre, the Civic Hall is a place where you can access services, support and activities locally.
At the Civic Hall you can find information on ‘Live Well’ - an online, self-serve community resource which has information for over 3,000 health and wellbeing services across Cheshire East. You can view this information online by clicking the link below.
