2024 Civic Award Nominations

Nominations are invited for this year’s Civic Service Awards. Just a handful of these are given each year to individuals or groups who have made a “sustained or significant contribution” to our community.

The awards will be presented by the Mayor at the Civic Sunday reception on 14th July2024. If you know of any deserving candidates, please collect a nomination form from the Civic Hall or download a copy here. Entries can be sent in confidence to haf.barlow@poyntontowncouncil.gov.uk or by post to the Town Clerk, Poynton Town Council, Civic Hall, off Park Lane, Poynton SK12 1RB. 

The deadline for nominations is 4pm on Friday 11th August.

The new categories for this year are below:

Nature and Environment – Awarded to individuals or groups who have had a positive impact on the Town’s environment or supported the Town’s flora and fauna.

Extra Mile – For those who go above and beyond in their paid work for the benefit of the local community.

Community Award – An award for local charities, groups or organisations who have made a positive contribution to the Town.

Mayor’s Commendation – Recognising a person who has made an outstanding and sustained contribution to Poynton

Youth Award – For those aged 21 and under for showing leadership, initiative, enthusiasm and commitment to a worthwhile cause, of benefit to their peer group and/or the wider community.

Business Award – Recognises independent businesses whose presence has had a positive impact on the local community, this could be through community outreach, creating jobs or investing in the Town.
