Family Fun Day - 21st May 2016

Poynton Town Council worked in partnership with Poynton High School, Everybody Leisure, Cheshire East Police to bring a great fun day for all the family.

Held at Poynton High School and Leisure Centre. Packed with all kinds of sporting activities, music, food, pony rides, face painting, bouncy castle, community stalls and much more, this Rio Olympics themed day was one of the most exciting events on Poynton's calendar.

Youth Fest! 30th Oct 2015 & 6th Nov 2015

It was great to see young people from aged ten to fifteen enjoying our “Youth Fest” event that took place around the Halloween and Bonfire Season on Friday 30th Oct and Friday 6th Nov 2015 in the Main Hall at Poynton Civic Hall.

There was lots to get involved in from trying out the inflatable bungee run and soccer shoot out to playing chocolate bingo!

A huge thanks to Cheshire East Youth Service, Poynton’s PCSO’s, and Waitrose who supported the event. In addition Jay Moore from Club Energy at Poynton Baptist Church attended and shared details of his permanent Friday night youth club that runs every Friday night for 11 to 15 year olds. Hurray for Hockley! Teddy Bears' Picnic - Hockley Park Fundraising Success

A big thanks to all that attended the Hockley Park, Poynton Fundraising Event on Saturday 26th September.

It was a great opportunity for local residents to view and comment upon potential play equipment in addition to sharing their own ideas. Fun stalls, craft activities, a bouncy castle, and face painter were enjoyed by our younger residents. Meeting Peppa Pig was also a highlight! Delicious homemade cakes were made by local Poynton Methodist Church Bake off Winner Louise Curran.

A huge thanks to volunteers who ran stalls and helped make the event such a success!

We raised £200 which is a great start! However more fundraising activities are needed to gain the 11% community funding required for the WREN bid. WREN is a not-for-profit business that helps benefit the lives of people who live close to landfill sites by awarding grants for community, biodiversity and heritage projects.

We will also be inviting older children at Worth Primary School to give their feedback about potential park equipment. So far 47 public comments have been received. Please do get in touch if you have any further comments you would like to register or if you would like to volunteer at a future Hockley Park fundraising event.
