On the 10th Oct 2019, Poynton voted decisively in favour of the Neighbourhood Plan, with 2554 saying YES to the Plan! The turnout was 25.22% of registered voters, with a total of 2919 votes being cast, including postal votes. More details below.

From the Higher Poynton Summerfest, Party in the Park, Poynton Show to Civic Sunday, Remembrance Sunday, the Poynton Christmas Fest and a 10K run, there's something for everyone in Poynton over the course of the year.
Cheshire East Council Countryside Rangers run varied events throughout the year, including holiday activities clubs. Several of these are are close by or within easy travelling distance. A full list of the ranger events can be found here.
Health and Wellbeing Fair, Saturday 26th October 2019
This year’s Health and Wellbeing Fair will be held on Saturday 26th October at Poynton Civic Hall, starting at 9am until 12 o’clock. Similarly to last year, Poynton Town Council will be working in partnership with the Patient Participation Groups and the event will coincide with the flu jab clinic at Priorslegh Medical Centre.
The event is to commemorate International Day of Older Persons and there will be a variety of groups and organisations who support older people in our community attending. It’s a great opportunity to have a chat or get information from organisations such as Poynton Golden Memories, Poynton Mobility Matters, Clickety Click knitting group, Able Living Care Services etc for you and your family, as well as getting advice on preparing well for winter!

Poynton Round Table present the 47th Annual Poynton Charity Bonfire & Fireworks Display. This year's event takes place on Saturday, 2nd November 2019, gates from 5:30pm at Poynton Park and promises to be another spectacular evening. Remembrance Day - Parade and Service - 10th November 2019
Participants must arrive by 9.25am. Parade begins at 9.35am from the Civic Centre car park, down Park Lane to St George’s church for Armistice 100 remembrance service at 10am.

This popular community event has always offered something for all the family. In previous years this has included a bird of prey display, pony rides, a novelty pet dog competition, the Poynton Youth Brass Band and other live bands, a Town Crier, the Adlington Morris Men, market stalls selling local produce, gifts and plants, a tombola, ferret racing, children’s attractions, a clown, and plenty more besides.
